Frequently Asked Questions

Full-width characters occupy a wider horizontal space like Hangul, while half-width characters are narrower like Latin letters. For example, 'A' is full-width and 'A' is half-width. Full-width characters can be useful for alignment in documents.

Special characters may appear corrupted in older programs that do not support Unicode. They display correctly in most modern browsers, word processors, and messaging apps.

Circled numbers are valid Unicode characters, but they may appear corrupted on some systems. For official documents, standard numbers with parentheses are recommended.

Most mathematical symbols are difficult or inappropriate to use directly in identifiers or code. Use them in comments and documentation, or use the mathematical functions and operators provided by your programming language.

A Unicode code point, such as U+0041, is a unique numeric identifier assigned to a character. It provides a standardized way to represent characters from around the world.
