Frequently Asked Questions

You can open SRT, SMI, VTT, ASS, SUB, and TXT files and convert them to any other supported format. Format-specific effects or styles may be simplified depending on the capabilities of the target format.

Reload the source file with the correct encoding, then choose UTF-8 or EUC-KR for download based on what your playback environment supports.

On the Sync tab, apply a fixed offset to every subtitle or correct the full timeline by setting a timing scale and source and target frame rates.

Add up to 20 files on the Batch Convert tab, convert them to the same target format and encoding, and download them together.

Use subtitle validation on the Tools tab to find overlapping timings, empty text, long lines, and other issues, then clean up items that can be fixed automatically.

Tips

  • Keep the original file separately, then use a copy for conversion and synchronization adjustments.
  • If the entire video has a constant offset, adjust the offset. If the error grows over time, use timing scale or frame-rate conversion.
  • Validate subtitles and clean up whitespace and duplicates before conversion to reduce player compatibility issues.
  • Before using regular-expression search and replace, review the scope and results to avoid unintended text changes.
  • Batch conversion is most efficient when you group files that need the same format and encoding.
